Staff Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

As a technical lead, the full-time remote Staff Data Platform Engineer will design and optimize the architecture of the Databricks Data Warehouse, enabling self-service data access for Analytics and Data Science teams while ensuring high reliability and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design the technical architecture for data ingestion, storage, and governance within the Databricks Data Warehouse
• Build and scale secure self-service frameworks for batch and streaming data to enhance efficiency across teams
• Lead incident triage and root-cause analysis, ensuring the platform meets production software standards

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on building reusable infrastructure
• Proven technical leadership in setting architectural direction and mentoring engineers
• Strong proficiency in Python or another Object Oriented Language, along with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
• Experience with data governance, security, and multi-tenancy principles
• Able to leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
