Staff Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architecture and design of complex distributed systems, the full-time Staff Data Platform Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data services and microservices in a remote capacity, with occasional travel to Austin, Texas required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of complex, large-scale distributed systems
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant microservices for real-time and batch data processing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate platform requirements into effective technical solutions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience focused on backend and data engineering
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed data systems using a microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Experience with AWS serverless technologies and modern programming languages such as TypeScript and Node.js
