Staff Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing technology division, the full-time Staff Data Platform Engineer will build and optimize production data systems, establish best practices for data access and storage, and mentor engineering teams while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Define guidelines and processes for data access and storage, championing best practices across engineering teams
• Create reusable infrastructure as code (IAC) to manage database resources and ensure operational monitoring
• Mentor senior engineers and lead technical discussions to elevate organizational standards and practices

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on data specialization
• Expert-level experience with No-SQL, relational, and columnar data stores, including Mongo, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake
• Proficiency with IAC tooling such as CDK, SAM, Serverless Framework, or Terraform
• Deep experience with cloud-native architectures and production-grade software at scale, particularly on AWS
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical strategy and execution for significant initiatives across multiple teams
