Job Summary
Driving the design and implementation of enterprise data protection capabilities, the full-time Staff Data Security Engineer will work remotely to secure sensitive data across Microsoft 365, endpoints, and cloud platforms while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and reduce enterprise risk.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage DLP policies across Microsoft Purview DLP and integrate with the Defender suite
- Conduct data risk assessments and collaborate with data owners to ensure proper classification and protection of sensitive data
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for the Data Security program while producing regular reporting on policy effectiveness and data risk posture
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience in information security, with at least 4 years focused on data security, DLP, or DSPM
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview DLP and strong proficiency with Microsoft Defender XDR suite
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Sentinel, including custom analytic rules and KQL query development
- Knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks and regulations related to data protection and DLP
