Staff Database Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Database Reliability Engineer to oversee the strategy, architecture, and operational excellence of its data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data schemas, access patterns, and operational runbooks for database management
• Lead infrastructure initiatives including capacity planning, zero-downtime migrations, and multi-AZ resilience
• Drive observability and build tooling for migration reviews and query performance monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in PostgreSQL and Aurora Serverless V2
• Strong ORM fluency, preferably with Django or similar frameworks
• Experience with production CDC and AWS DMS
• Hands-on knowledge of observability tools like pganalyze and CloudWatch
• Proficient in automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Python, Go, or Terraform
