Staff Design Engineer

Job Summary

Transforming design practices in an AI-native world, the full-time remote Staff Design Engineer will lead the development of a robust design system that integrates design standards into production code, enhancing collaboration between design and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build the infrastructure for an AI-native design practice by translating design standards into code-based systems
• Shape the user experience of Mixpanel's products by collaborating on innovative design solutions that leverage AI capabilities
• Own the integration of design and code, ensuring synchronization and defining standards for shippable outputs

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Next.js
• Experience building or overhauling design systems at scale
• Strong design sensibility with a focus on craft, consistency, and interaction quality
• Fluency in AI-assisted workflows and related prototyping tools
• A track record of collaboration across design and engineering disciplines with 8+ years in relevant roles
