Staff DevSecOps Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the security engineering posture for a strategic engagement with a top-tier pharmaceutical company, the remote contract Staff DevSecOps Engineer will define secure software practices across cloud environments, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the DevSecOps reference architecture and set a multi-year roadmap for security and compliance across cloud workloads
• Design and operate hardened cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines with integrated security measures
• Engineer controls for regulatory compliance and partner with validation teams to align DevSecOps tooling with industry standards

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, platform engineering, or SRE, with 4+ years leading DevSecOps initiatives
• Deep expertise in at least one major public cloud (preferably AWS) at production scale
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript, and fluency in infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
• Experience embedding security into CI/CD pipelines and working knowledge of Kubernetes security
• Track record of operating in regulated industries and translating compliance frameworks into engineering controls
