Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Staff Engineer, this role focuses on building KnowBe4's core Security Awareness Training product, requiring expertise in Ruby on Rails, modern front-end technologies like Vue 3 and SvelteKit, and complex AWS infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develops software using Agile methodologies while owning the evolution of major subsystems
• Provides technical direction to team members and translates strategic goals into technical roadmaps
• Sets standards for code quality and engineering patterns through rigorous reviews and guidance for senior engineers

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience scaling production Ruby on Rails applications and expertise in GraphQL and relational database tuning
• Strong proficiency with modern component frameworks and TypeScript; Vue 3 experience preferred
• Deep experience with AWS services and proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code
• Demonstrated experience in designing event-driven architectures and managing asynchronous processing
• BS or equivalent plus 10 years of experience, MS or equivalent plus 5 years, or Ph.D. or equivalent plus 4 years of experience
