Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Staff Engineer will enhance enterprise-grade retail software, set technical direction, and collaborate across teams to solve complex problems while mentoring other engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Make improvements to enterprise-grade retail software at scale
• Set technical direction and align teams on architectural decisions
• Partner with stakeholders to develop and refine customer-facing features

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in building and running production systems at scale
• Deep experience in at least one modern backend stack (e.g., .NET/C#, TypeScript, Ruby)
• Experience designing scalable data models across relational and non-relational stores
• Familiarity with AI tools and methodologies for improving engineering processes
• Strong mentoring skills with a focus on enhancing the team's output and judgment
