Staff Engineer
Job Summary
To shape the future of Later's technology stack, the remote Staff Engineer will scope, lead, and deliver large-scale technical initiatives while mentoring team members and ensuring engineering excellence in a full-time capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Scope, plan, and lead large-scale technical initiatives aligned with business priorities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable systems across both frontend and backend technologies
- Act as a technical mentor, coaching junior engineers and fostering a collaborative team culture
Required qualifications
- 8-15 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on large-scale systems
- Strong expertise in frontend technologies, particularly React and TypeScript
- Proficiency in backend development using Node.js and experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Deep understanding of application and infrastructure security best practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Docker; familiarity with AWS is a plus
