Staff Engineer, AI Tooling

Job Summary

To accelerate R&D workflows in a remote environment, the full-time Staff Engineer, AI Tooling will ship real engineering work weekly, optimize day-to-day engineering processes, and enhance team productivity through teaching and collaborative development.

Key responsibilities

• Ship engineering work weekly in the main codebase while tackling real problems alongside the team
• Optimize engineering workflows and develop custom skills and agents to improve efficiency
• Train and certify engineers on new workflows to ensure successful implementation of improvements

Required qualifications

• Fluency in agentic development with a proven record of shipping impactful work in an AI-native environment
• Public engagement in agentic patterns, MCP, evals, or codegen, with recognition in the field
• Current individual shipping record demonstrating excellence and a commitment to continuous contribution
• Strong AI fluency with the ability to critically assess AI outputs and build reliable systems
• Passion for mentoring and elevating team performance through collaborative efforts
