Staff Engineer, Cloud Cost Optimization

Job Summary

Driving cloud cost efficiency, the remote Staff Engineer, Cloud Cost Optimization will own FinOps initiatives, provide technical leadership, and design scalable cloud infrastructure while fostering a collaborative engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own cloud cost efficiency by championing FinOps initiatives for cost visibility and accountability
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to promote a FinOps mindset across the engineering team
• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure using technologies like Kubernetes and Pub/Sub

Required qualifications

• Demonstrated success in leading FinOps or cloud cost-optimization initiatives with quantifiable savings
• Core software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python and Ruby
• Strong system administration experience, including fluency with Linux and networking
• Proficiency with GCP and cloud tools such as Kubernetes and Kafka
• Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure
