Staff Engineer - Edge Protocols

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Staff Engineer - Edge Protocols, this position focuses on writing, testing, and deploying C and Rust code while enhancing network software and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize protocols and deliver features to customers, with a preference for candidates located near San Francisco, Denver, or New York, though remote options may be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Write, test, and deploy network software implementing protocols such as TLS, HTTP, and QUIC
• Collaborate with teams to shape a technical roadmap and proactively address risks in feature delivery
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation within the team

Required qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience with a proven ability to design and implement low latency systems
• Significant production experience coding in C, C++, and/or Rust
• Experience with Linux systems and network programming
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining distributed infrastructure
• Ability to mentor and support the professional growth of engineers
