Staff Engineer, Healthcare Data

Job Summary

To support a growing health data platform, the full-time Staff Engineer, Healthcare Data will own the architecture and performance of large-scale data pipelines, ensuring standards-conformant FHIR delivery while leveraging AI tools for efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture of large-scale data pipelines, transforming raw data into clean, standards-conformant FHIR
• Diagnose and eliminate performance bottlenecks in distributed processing and set standards for data quality and terminology normalization
• Mentor engineers and establish frameworks that enhance team efficiency and uphold compliance with relevant regulations

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, health IT, or healthcare interoperability with a proven track record in managing complex systems
• Demonstrated experience in building large-scale health-data pipelines and defining frameworks that accelerate team performance
• Proficiency in distributed data engineering with tools like Apache Spark and experience in ETL/ELT processes
• Familiarity with FHIR standards and compliance regulations such as HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act
• Experience using AI tools for coding and data processing, enhancing engineering efficiency without compromising quality
