Staff Engineer I (AI, Java)
Job Summary
To design and build intelligent backend services, the full-time remote Staff Engineer I (AI, Java) will lead the development of Java-based systems and workflow-integrated solutions while collaborating with technical architects and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Java-based backend services using Spring Boot and microservices
- Implement AI-enabled service capabilities for workflow automation and decision support across various platforms
- Provide technical leadership through design/code reviews, mentoring engineers, and guiding best practices
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 8-10+ years of enterprise backend development experience with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Experience integrating AI-driven capabilities into enterprise systems and understanding distributed systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Proven ability to lead design and mentor engineers
