Staff Engineer Platform Engineering

Job Summary

Focusing on operational health and reliability, the remote Staff Engineer, Platform Engineering will diagnose and resolve foundational issues impacting deployments and on-call engineers while owning the technical strategy for operational posture and mentoring peers in operational thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits of infrastructure, deployment processes, and incident patterns
• Identify and implement solutions for foundational issues causing operational pain
• Establish organizational standards for reliability and mentor engineers on operational thinking

Required qualifications

• 5-8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in infrastructure, operations, or reliability engineering
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Substantial experience with AWS services and architecture patterns
• Expertise in scripting/automation languages such as Python, Go, or Bash
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and metrics collection in production environments
