Staff Engineer - Ruby on Rails

Job Summary

To support a rapidly growing startup, the Staff Engineer - Ruby on Rails will own the full cycle of shipping production Rails features, define and decompose work into well-specified tickets, and collaborate directly with stakeholders to ensure product needs are met, all while working remotely in a flexible capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Ship Rails features quickly, managing the full cycle from stakeholder conversations to production deployment
• Define and decompose ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable tickets for development
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product requirements and make scope and prioritization decisions

Required qualifications

• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and experience building production applications
• Proven ability to use AI tooling to enhance development speed and efficiency
• Strong skills in specifying work clearly for junior developers or AI tools
• Experience engaging with stakeholders to understand user problems and product needs
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment with a focus on fast-paced delivery
