Staff Engineering Lead

Job Summary

To tackle complex, high-impact challenges, the full-time Staff Engineering Lead will manage a small team of engineers, focusing on developing reliable systems for money movement and tax calculations, while collaborating closely with product and operations in a remote or hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive resolution of complex problems and improve systems and developer workflows
• Develop engineers into stronger owners and manage projects, including system design and bug fixes
• Collaborate with product and operations teams to define product behavior and clarify requirements

Required qualifications

• Experience owning and delivering production systems end-to-end
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineers
• Strong technical judgment with a track record of driving outcomes in ambiguous environments
• Comfort in switching between coaching and hands-on work as needed
• Excitement about leveraging AI to enhance team productivity and system quality
