Staff Full Stack Engineer

Job Summary

Driving innovation in civic technology, the full-time Staff Full Stack Engineer will lead the development of AI-powered features, manage end-to-end product delivery across the stack, and collaborate with product and design teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own features from frontend to backend, ensuring quality and performance of AI-native product surfaces
• Collaborate with product squads to transition features from prototype to production, embedding in the development process
• Enhance engineering practices by creating reusable patterns, tooling, and infrastructure to elevate team performance

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Staff-level role focused on full stack product delivery
• Proficiency in Next.js/React for frontend and NestJS/TypeScript for backend development
• Experience building cloud infrastructure, particularly on AWS, using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Familiarity with AI-native approaches and technologies, including LLM-powered features and agent patterns
• Strong understanding of UI challenges in agentic systems and experience with content safety and output quality design
