Staff Machine Learning Analyst

Job Summary

As a full-time Staff Machine Learning Analyst on the Growth & Risk team, the successful candidate will define ML data strategies for fraud detection, manage feature engineering pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance fraud prevention systems in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define the ML data and feature strategy for fraud detection, ensuring high-accuracy actions on critical traffic
• Own the end-to-end feature engineering pipeline, focusing on identifying, building, and validating features that improve ML performance against ATO and scams
• Partner with Machine Learning Engineers to translate analytical insights into production-ready systems and mentor junior team members

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning analytics, data science, or a related field, with a focus on risk, fraud, or payments
• Deep expertise in Spark, Python, and big data ML, with proven experience in feature engineering for ML models
• Holistic understanding of the evolution of the ML industry and the ability to apply that knowledge to close infrastructure gaps
• Background in risk or payments ML, with a passion for fighting fraud and a curiosity for investigations
• Demonstrated ability to use generative AI tools effectively in daily workflows
