Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff ML Engineer - Adaptive Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, train, and deploy adaptive learning recommender models to improve lesson completion and learner retention
• Manage the full ML lifecycle, from data queries and feature tables to model training and inference services
• Conduct A/B experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with recommender or ranking systems that impacted product metrics
• Deep expertise in Python and experience with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Experience building production systems such as two tower retrieval, deep cross feature ranking models, or contextual bandits
• Ability to design and interpret A/B tests, translating statistical results for product teams
• Curiosity about the intersection of classical recommendation systems and generative AI techniques
