Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on designing and evolving an end-to-end ML platform, the remote Staff Machine Learning Engineer will lead the development of scalable ML systems for Safety AI, collaborating closely with product teams to enhance safety outcomes across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the end-to-end ML platform used by multiple product teams
• Partner with product and applied ML teams to ship ML-powered features and drive experiment design and evaluation
• Own reliability and security for ML systems, ensuring effective incident response and infrastructure hardening

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in machine learning engineering or related fields with a strong track record of large-scale ML systems
• Strong experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Ray and/or Spark
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), containers/Kubernetes, and production observability tooling
• Proven experience building or supporting ML platforms for multiple teams
• Solid understanding of ML fundamentals including evaluation, experiment design, and model iteration in production environments
