Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the AI Product Engineering team in a full-time remote role, responsible for architecting and building advanced ML systems, mentoring engineers, and leading high-impact ML initiatives from development to deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical direction for ML initiatives, including problem framing, research exploration, and production deployment
• Prototype and fine-tune models, writing production code while mentoring engineering team members
• Lead LLM strategy, making informed decisions on model selection and evaluation across various constraints

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience
• 8+ years in software/ML engineering with a proven track record at the Staff level, remaining hands-on with modern ML/AI technologies
• Direct experience fine-tuning LLMs and deploying them at scale
• In-depth knowledge of open-weight and foundation models, particularly in document AI
• Strong data reasoning fundamentals and a research-oriented mindset with a focus on production outcomes
