Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

As a remote Staff Machine Learning Engineer, the successful candidate will design, build, deploy, and maintain advanced machine learning models and algorithms to enhance Thorn's mission of eliminating child sexual exploitation, while mentoring other engineers and collaborating across various teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end model development, including design, testing, and maintenance of machine learning systems
• Lead technical discussions, set engineering standards, and mentor other engineers within the Machine Learning team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive requirements and translate user needs into actionable features

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning and/or artificial intelligence, with 3+ years in production-scale computer vision and/or NLP systems
• Ph.D. or master's degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong ability to work in ambiguous environments and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Passion for machine learning and commitment to child safety
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in a remote work setting
