Staff Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Staff Platform Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity, responsible for enhancing complex Scala systems, redesigning data layers for AI products, and building a Rust framework to improve developer tooling and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and scale inherited Scala systems, identifying root causes of issues
• Redesign the data layer for machine learning and AI products
• Develop a Rust framework to streamline the delivery of correct and performant services

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in the JVM ecosystem (Java, Scala)
• Experience with Rust is highly desired
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL, including data processing with Spark or similar
• Experience in distributed systems design and observability engineering
• Ability to navigate and understand complex codebases effectively
