Staff Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To drive architectural decisions and integration standards, the full-time Staff Platform Engineer will serve as the primary technical authority on integrations, focusing on API design and integration architecture while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Define integration patterns and API contracts used across product lines while evaluating build-vs-buy decisions for integration infrastructure
• Provide technical direction for scrum teams, resolving high-stakes technical problems and maintaining high standards in code and design reviews
• Contribute to the implementation of integration services and shared libraries, while developing tooling to enhance integration development efficiency

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on technical leadership across multiple teams or product areas
• Proven experience designing and building production-grade integration systems, including RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language used in integration contexts (Java, Python, C#, or similar)
• Experience deploying and operating integration workloads on cloud platforms, preferably AWS
