Staff Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of Acorn, the next-generation CDP and messaging platform, the fully remote Staff Platform Engineer will design system architecture, build safety mechanisms for AI agents, and lead incident management for a platform handling over 500K events per second.

Key responsibilities

• Own infrastructure design, scaling, and cost management for automated deployment processes
• Develop and implement guardrails and validation systems to ensure safe operations of AI agents
• Lead incident response and create runbooks for novel failures and operational challenges

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing production Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure
• Proficiency in Terraform and GitOps/Kustomize with a focus on automation and idempotency
• Real-world incident response experience in distributed systems, including databases and streaming services
• Understanding of data systems, including Postgres and columnar stores, under load conditions
• Ability to collaborate with AI agents, designing checks and runbooks for safe automation
