Staff Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To define and lead platform engineering strategy across complex cloud systems, the remote Staff Platform Engineer will manage infrastructure architecture, drive DevSecOps practices, and mentor engineers while overseeing platform reliability and security at scale in a 4-month contract role.
Key responsibilities
- Define DevOps strategy and lead infrastructure architecture across multi-environment cloud systems
- Own infrastructure as code strategy and standards, driving platform reliability and performance SLAs
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while acting as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of professional DevOps or platform engineering experience
- Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration, along with IaC skills across multiple tools
- Strong experience with AI/ML platform infrastructure, including model serving and deployment
- Deep cloud expertise across at least one major platform
- Demonstrated leadership and technical mentoring experience
