Staff Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Joining the Prefect Cloud team, the full-time Staff Platform Engineer will establish strategies for maintaining high-quality service, lead operationally mature work, and proactively improve user experience while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Establish strategies for maintaining high quality of service, including identifying service-level indicators and defining error budgets
- Lead operationally mature work by writing maintainable code, participating in on-call and incident response, and improving owned systems over time
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance user experience through performance engineering and automation improvements
Required qualifications
- Experience operating and optimizing large-scale distributed systems in production
- Expertise managing production services in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with monitoring tools like DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience operating production systems in a high-growth startup environment
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Kubernetes and Terraform
