Staff Product Designer

Job Summary

Leading the strategy and execution of a design system, the full-time Staff Product Designer will work remotely to evolve Alpaca, ensuring it scales with the needs of an AI-driven product organization while partnering with cross-functional teams to define and document new components and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and evolution of the Alpaca design system to support AI and agent product patterns
• Establish governance models and quality standards for consistent design across all teams
• Mentor designers on systems thinking and advocate for accessibility in all components and documentation

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a product designer with a focus on design systems in complex B2B SaaS
• Expertise in building scalable design systems, including component architecture and design tokens
• Strong visual design skills with a solid understanding of typography, color theory, and accessibility principles
• Experience collaborating with front-end engineers and fluency in front-end code
• Proficiency in Figma, including managing shared libraries at scale
