Staff Product Manager

Job Summary

Owning the vision and strategy for the core streaming analytics engine, the full-time Staff Product Manager will manage product development, competitive strategy, and architectural tradeoffs in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product strategy for the streaming analytics engine, including storage, materialization, and query performance
• Develop competitive strategies against established real-time analytical databases, highlighting Confluent's unique value
• Collaborate with engineering and peer product managers to ensure the engine meets the needs of downstream products and validate use cases with customers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in product management or related technical roles
• 5+ years of experience launching technical infrastructure or data products
• Deep familiarity with real-time analytics, database internals, or streaming data platform architecture
• Strong technical judgment in navigating trade-offs in distributed systems and query performance
