Staff Product Manager - Postgres

Job Summary

Owning the vision and roadmap for Render's datastores portfolio with a focus on Postgres, the full-time Staff Product Manager - Postgres will drive technical and strategic direction, engage with customers, and shape architectural decisions in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Render's datastores, focusing on provisioning, lifecycle management, and performance
• Drive prioritization across data investments, balancing foundational reliability work with product and business needs
• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to shape the technical direction of the data layer, ensuring durability and operational simplicity

Required qualifications

• 7+ years in Product Management, primarily in databases, data infrastructure, or developer tools
• Familiarity with Postgres architecture and operational models, including challenges faced in production
• Deep empathy for developers and customers, with the ability to make sound architectural tradeoffs
• Proven track record of transforming high-stakes reliability issues into clear strategies and outcomes
• Strong communication and storytelling skills
