Job Summary
Leading the translation of reaction energetics from atomistic simulations into process-scale predictions, the full-time remote Staff Research Scientist in Catalyst Simulation will design and execute microkinetic modeling workflows, engage with industrial partners, and mentor junior scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own microkinetic and reactor-level modeling workflows for catalytic and specialty chemical synthesis processes
- Lead application engagements with industrial partners, translating their challenges into modeling targets and delivering actionable results
- Validate models against experimental data, refining them iteratively and quantifying uncertainties
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with specialization in microkinetic modeling
- 6+ years of post-PhD experience in building and applying microkinetic models in an industrial or applied R&D context
- Strong publication or patent record in DFT-derived energetics and reactor-scale integration
- Proficient in Python and modern scientific software practices in an HPC environment
- Ability to lead scientific engagements with external industrial partners and communicate results effectively
