Staff Safety Engineer

Job Summary

To support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety initiatives, the full-time Staff Safety Engineer will manage Serve's Safety Management System, drive hazard identification and risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the evolution of Serve's Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure alignment across safety-related functions
• Drive hazard identification and risk assessments to systematically control and accept safety risks
• Lead cross-functional incident investigations and root cause analyses to implement effective corrective actions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, safety, or related discipline)
• 12+ years of experience in engineering and/or safety management
• 5+ years of experience in the transportation or mobility sector
• 3+ years of experience in a safety leadership or program ownership role
• 3+ years of experience with autonomous vehicles
