Staff Security Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Security Engineer to join their team remotely in Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable detection pipelines across various platforms, including cloud environments
• Mature Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) capabilities, focusing on enrichment and high-signal detections
• Act as the Incident Commander of the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) during investigations

Required Qualifications:

• 7 or more years of experience in detection engineering, security operations, or a similar role
• Deep familiarity with adversary TTPs, anomaly-based detection techniques, and event correlation strategies
• Experience operationalizing detection-as-code pipelines
• Typically has a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Ruby, Java, Python, or Go
