Staff Security Engineer

Job Summary

As the first dedicated security hire, the full-time Staff Security Engineer will build and lead the security program, defining the security roadmap and strengthening cloud and application security while collaborating with various teams in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead Sprinter's security program, defining and executing a practical security roadmap
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls to support HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST compliance
• Embed security into the software development lifecycle and coordinate vulnerability management efforts

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security, or related roles
• Experience building or scaling a security function in a high-growth environment
• Hands-on experience with cloud security in AWS, GCP, or similar environments
• Proven ability to implement security controls for compliance frameworks such as HIPAA and SOC 2
• Experience with identity and access management systems and security tooling implementation
