Staff Security Engineer

Job Summary

Owning security challenges end-to-end, the full-time remote Staff Security Engineer will build and implement direct controls to reduce risks, create secure-by-default libraries, and partner with compliance teams to enhance safety for sensitive patient information.

Key responsibilities

• Own security problems from identification to implementation, navigating ambiguity to determine priorities
• Build secure libraries and tooling to enable fast-paced engineering while minimizing risks
• Define and enforce strict least-privilege guardrails across services to protect sensitive data

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production-grade code (Kotlin, Java, Python, Go, C# or similar)
• Deep understanding of threat modeling, identity and authentication flows, and cloud security
• Proven track record of effectively closing security risks rather than merely documenting them
• Experience in healthcare with knowledge of HIPAA and HITRUST compliance
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and modern product stacks
