Staff Security Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Staff Security Engineer will build and deploy security controls, automation, and log pipelines to enhance the efficiency of a lean security team while directly engaging with AWS environments and internal tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage security log pipelines, ensuring logs are collected, transformed, and delivered to the SIEM for detection and investigation
• Operate and enhance the SIEM by onboarding new data sources and tuning detections and alerts
• Deploy and optimize security controls across a mixed fleet of macOS and Windows workstations, as well as AWS WorkSpaces virtual desktops

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on security engineering experience with a focus on automation and tooling
• Proficiency in writing custom code and scripting, primarily in Python, for building tools and log pipelines
• Experience in end-to-end log pipeline development, including collection, parsing, enrichment, and delivery to a SIEM
• Hands-on experience with SIEM operations, including onboarding sources and tuning alerts
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform
