Staff Security Engineer

Job Summary

Acting as the primary security partner for the team, the full-time Staff Security Engineer will provide architectural guidance, lead security assessments, and drive a "security-by-design" culture while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide deep architectural guidance and embed security practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Lead security assessments for new features and contribute to broader security initiatives, identifying risks and remediation plans
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to prioritize security roadmap items and mentor engineers on security standards and best practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of industry experience in security engineering at a Staff (E6) level or equivalent
• Extensive experience as a security generalist across infrastructure, application, and cryptographic security domains
• Strong proficiency in automated security tooling and using AI/ML for security improvements
• Deep expertise in collaborating with engineering teams to identify and mitigate design flaws proactively
