Staff Snowflake Architect

Job Summary

Owning the architecture and long-term roadmap for Snowflake, the full-time Staff Snowflake Architect will optimize data infrastructure, enhance performance, and ensure governance while collaborating with analytics engineers and data scientists in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define Snowflake architecture and its integration with Databricks and other data stores while evaluating new features and cost-optimization tools
• Analyze query execution plans and guide engineering teams on efficient schema and query design to improve performance
• Implement automation for cost controls and build dashboards for proactive monitoring of performance and costs

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering or warehousing with 5+ years managing large-scale Snowflake environments
• Proven success in reducing query runtimes and data warehouse spend through optimization strategies
• Expert-level SQL skills and proficiency in Python, Terraform, or similar for automation and monitoring
• Strong background in metadata tagging and role-based access control for governance and cost attribution
• Familiarity with Snowflake integrations in cloud environments and tools such as Databricks and Airflow
