Job Summary

To drive technical strategy and enhance AI adoption, the freelance Staff Software Engineer will work remotely, focusing on building scalable distributed systems and improving development workflows for a high-traffic eCommerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction and create structures to support engineering and AI strategies
• Identify and resolve critical challenges that impact engineering teams and site stability
• Drive cross-team collaboration and enhance AI fluency through coaching and development initiatives

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 6 years in building scalable distributed systems
• Hands-on experience in planning and architecting high-traffic systems as a staff engineer or technical leader
• Proven track record of driving AI adoption and improving development workflows
• Familiarity with Next.js, React.js, Node.js, and AWS technologies
• Experience working on platform or developer experience teams focused on stability and code quality
