Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking an innovative Staff Software Engineer specializing in Flink SQL, this full-time remote position will focus on developing core components for an efficient cloud-native Apache Flink experience while contributing to open-source projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Flink SQL components, including logical query planner, parser, optimizer, and SQL runtime
• Ensure code quality, test coverage, documentation, and maintainability of team projects
• Contribute to open-source Apache Flink by participating in discussions, reviewing PRs, and writing technical content for the community

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant software development experience
• Deep knowledge of database internals, particularly in query planning and optimization
• Extensive experience in designing and developing complex distributed systems
• Active involvement in stream processing communities and industry conferences
• Strong problem-solving skills with effective communication abilities
