Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Bridging technical execution with cross-functional leadership, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will write code across the stack, mentor senior engineers, and manage complex technical initiatives in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead collaboration across engineering, product, design, and clinical teams to ensure technical decisions align with business and clinical goals
• Write and maintain code primarily in Ruby on Rails, focusing on systems and abstractions for other engineers
• Contribute to engineering culture through process improvements, documentation, and team health initiatives

Required qualifications

• Significant professional experience developing software, primarily in Ruby on Rails, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects end-to-end
• Ability to build trust quickly across teams and communicate with clarity and empathy
• Experience owning problems and finding effective solutions beyond surface-level issues
• Demonstrated thoughtfulness and empathy in decision-making and collaboration
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and opinions on their effective use in software development
