Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on technical leader, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain core planning and prediction systems for autonomous trucks, while mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional initiatives in a remote or onsite capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain algorithms for trajectory generation, behavior prediction, and decision-making in autonomous systems
• Drive simulation-based validation efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe autonomous driving behaviors
• Lead technical solutions across the software lifecycle, influencing architectural direction and mentoring junior engineers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with 10+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 5+ years
• Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ development within Linux environments
• Experience delivering robotics or autonomous vehicle software into production
• Strong background in motion planning, behavior planning, or decision-making systems for autonomous applications
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments while driving complex technical initiatives to completion
