Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Staff Software Engineer will design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems for high-volume data processing
• Contribute to migration efforts towards a scalable architecture and optimize software for performance-sensitive workflows
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to investigate technical problems and develop solutions

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth
• Proficiency in Java, with the ability to switch from other languages such as Python, Scala, or Go
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and architecture, particularly event-driven architecture
• Experience with heavy data processing tools like Spark and Kafka, as well as Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with REST APIs and event-driven integrations in high-throughput, low-latency environments
