Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the evolution of the Edge platform, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will contribute to a large-scale Ruby on Rails application, focusing on stabilizing and scaling the system while mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the technical direction for the Edge domain, guiding the evolution of the Rails monolith and related infrastructure
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, APIs, and project milestones, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Contribute high-quality code and address complex performance and reliability challenges while mentoring other engineers

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in SaaS or product engineering environments
• 3+ years of experience at a Staff, Principal, or Lead level, including architecture ownership and mentoring
• Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails and relational databases, with experience in evolving large codebases
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices in engineering workflows
