Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a critical initiative for young adults aging out of foster care, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will engineer an end-to-end software platform, focusing on user experience and backend API development in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer a software product end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams including researchers, designers, and product managers
• Design and optimize LLM-powered features for semantic search and prompt engineering to ensure accurate guidance for foster youth
• Build secure, compliant software that meets federal standards and maintains high performance and reliability

Required qualifications

• Experience optimizing LLM interactions with knowledge bases and full-stack development expertise
• Ability to write clean, reusable code and produce high-quality software through automated testing
• Familiarity with building secure, compliant software and understanding common vulnerabilities
• Foundational knowledge of data engineering and persistent data handling in software systems
• Experience working on cross-functional teams in an iterative delivery environment
