Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Contributing to the development and scaling of a platform, the remote Staff Software Engineer will manage end-to-end engineering processes, guide technical architecture, and mentor team members while addressing complex problems across systems.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute across the full lifecycle of systems from design to deployment, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions
• Partner with senior engineers to shape system design and improve performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Support and mentor engineers, sharing knowledge and providing feedback to elevate the overall engineering standard

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record in production systems
• Strong experience with Node.js and React, along with deep knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Experience with spatial data and GIS technologies, including mapping and geospatial analysis
• Hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Active daily use of agentic coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, or similar)
