Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the design and implementation of event-driven distributed systems, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will work remotely to develop scalable API architecture and partner on AI integration while mentoring other engineers in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and build event-driven distributed systems on Kafka, including orchestrator and worker services
• Own API architecture at scale across REST and a federated GraphQL gateway, ensuring schema composition and contract evolution
• Collaborate on AI architecture to integrate LLMs and agents into the platform while maintaining data protection standards

Required qualifications:

• Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems and scalable design
• Strong experience with event-driven architecture and hands-on knowledge of Kafka
• Proficient in API design across REST and GraphQL
• Experience with cloud-native technologies, particularly Kubernetes and AWS
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, particularly FHIR, is a strong plus
