Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and development of software installation frameworks, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer will optimize Dentrix software deployment processes using InstallShield and core components in C, C++, and C# while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain InstallShield projects and custom actions for Dentrix
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure an iterative design process that integrates feedback
• Lead initiatives to modernize and standardize installer infrastructure, including versioning and upgrade strategies

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, particularly in Windows desktop applications
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with package management tools, preferably InstallShield
• In-depth knowledge of Windows OS, Windows Installer (MSI), and registry/file system operations
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills related to installation and runtime processes
• Ability to lead cross-functional efforts within an agile scrum environment
